Would you like to be a Little Known Artist?

At Little Known Art House we are looking for fine art and craftsmanship of highest quality. The shop is a carefully curated space by the owner, Jackie Sanders, and artists chosen must have a unique and distinct point of view and fit the vibe of the shop and gallery. The artwork must be original and of their own design.

Thank you so much for your interest!!

In the Gallery

Artists will be hosted in Little Known’s micro gallery for a period of 5-6 weeks. The gallery space can hang 4 to 6 pieces with a width shorter than 36”. We have tall ceilings so can utilize the vertical space to hang more if the artist would like to. Artists must be able to get their work to and from Little Known. 80% of the sales made goes to the artist and 20% goes to Little Known Art House. It is recommended that the artist carry insurance to cover any damage that may occur in transit and while the work is being hosted in the gallery.

We are currently booked out in the gallery through 2025 but are looking to start a list of artists for 2026.

In the Shop

We are always looking for new artists to add to our ongoing list however the space we have is limited and we cannot host everyone that is interested. These are the types of artwork we are looking for.

2 dimensional works: paintings, photography, carvings, clay, printmaking, screen prints, glicee prints of artwork, mixed media, illustration

3 dimensional works: carved wooden bowls and trays, small handmade furniture, pottery, sculpture, handwoven baskets, glass

Soft Goods: pillows, bags, quilts, children’s toys, embroidery

Jewelry: we prefer hand created in some way that is unique to the artist; earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets

Wholesale vs Consignment

Both are a way to sell goods, each with it’s own advantages and disadvantages. We currently have a preference towards wholesale as it allows Jackie to create a space that feels the most cohesive and curated. For more information on these options please get in touch.

Wholesale: Little Known Art House chooses and purchases items from the creator. The shop then owns and takes responsibility for the items and will sell them at msrp. faire.com is a great example of artists that sell their work this way and is a way that Little Known finds some really great artists around the Mid-West. If you are on Faire please let us know. While the artist gets paid right away, the shop is at a loss until the item is purchased.

Consignment: the items created belong to the creator and are displayed in the shop. Little Known Art House may do consignment on a case by case basis and chooses what items they would like to be displayed. Neither the shop nor the creator are paid until the item sells. If the items provided don’t sell within 6 months time they will be returned to the artist. It is recommended that the artist carry insurance in case of damage while the work is being hosted in the shop.

In both cases 50% goes to the artist and 50% to Little Known Art House.

Pop-up and Workshops

During the summer we would love to host pop-up events for artists to show case their work on a one day basis during open hours on a Friday or Saturday. We have a couple different spots that are perfect for a small table set up. We are happy to provide a small table to display on and chair if needed.

If you have an idea for a workshop let us know. We have a big, beautiful space that would be perfect to host workshops.
